Bakersfield, CA, June 2006
After six months of FEMA service in the Gulf Coast area, Remy Florendo has returned home for a brief respite before his next assignment. He received extensive training and certifications before being assigned to the job as a PAC. The duties of a PAC are very diversified, but with his excellent qualifications and high level skill sets, Remy represented himself and Luster well. He served as a liaison between governmental offices, public agencies, and FEMA. He conducted site visitations to estimate the cost of either renovation or demolition as a result of hurricane and flooding damage. His initial assignment was in the Port Charles area where he prepared mostly governmental and public agency building estimations while overseeing a crew of other estimators. He later traveled further south where he was assigned to New Orleans and given the task of developing estimates on school damage. The expertise with which Remy performed his duties resulted in a public declaration and proclamation for service well served from FEMA officers.
