History
Over the past thirty-two years, Robert Luster has guided Luster National, Inc.’s (Luster) growth from one person to more than 65 associates, offering clients comprehensive program/project management, sustainability solutions and strategic planning services. He guides cost-effective and cost-efficient solutions to both government and industry using his experience as a former active duty Army officer and business leader. Since founding Luster in 1990, he has created a nationwide organization with a reputation for excellence and technical innovation.
Robert founded the company on three principles: Client Focus, Professional Integrity, and Social Responsibility. “Our principles define not only what we do, but who we are. These principles are the drivers that will continue to fuel the growth of the company,” says Robert.
As principal-in-charge of numerous projects for a broad range of clients, Robert has guided the company in delivering exceptional contract performance and customer satisfaction. He has led the company in establishing and managing numerous complex multi-year projects as a prime contractor, joint venture partner and subcontractor. His leadership and vision have allowed the company to assist company clients to achieve their stated intent with minimal risk and optimal efficiencies of internal and external resources. Luster’s client focus approach supports such industries as aviation, transit, roads & bridges, water and wastewater, military installations, education, prisons and infrastructure. These programs and projects have involved design-build, design-bid-build, and public private partnerships acquisition strategies. Many of Luster’s projects have achieved Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) certification and received industry awards.
As president of Luster National, Robert has overseen the successful completion of more than a hundred projects for federal agencies ranging from Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA); General Services Administration (GSA); U.S. Army, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE); National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA); U.S. Navy; and, the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). He has also overseen the completion of more than one-hundred-and-fifty projects for Luster’s commercial, state and local government clients, including such cities and counties as San Francisco, CA; Atlanta, GA; and, Birmingham, AL.
Robert’s “Can Do” attitude flows through the veins of every Luster Team Member. It permeates everything that each Team Member does on every project and in every role.
